Helen & Trent

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOURSELVES AND YOUR WEDDING STYLE?

We both wanted a relaxed wedding which still had elements of elegance and a classic style. Our focus was for us and all of our guests to have a night of fun, good food, great drinks and a party to see us out. Neither of us were fixated on big formalities or a strict structure for the night, so we wanted that relaxed atmosphere reflected in our wedding.

THE VENUE - What made you choose Provenance Wines?

We live locally so didn't want to travel, but to be honest there wasn't a lot in Geelong that offered what we wanted. Provenance ticked all of the boxes in terms of flexibility all in the one place, delicious food and exceptional wine (especially Pinot Noir which is our favourite). It was also easily accessible from town for all of our guests. Right from the start the communication from Sarah, our events coordinator, was clear which added to appeal.

FAVE DETAILS FROM THE DAY

Having all of our favourite people in the one room was really special. It was equally special though to sneak away with the photographer during the night to have some photos of just the two of us. Having the quiet moment together allowed us to soak in the night. And of course the dance floor - perfect way to end the night!

MEMORABLE MOMENT

We can't choose one... every time we talk about the night we remember something else!

A WORD OF ADVICE

Don't worry about anyone else but the two of you. If you have a good night and are relaxed your guests will too! Plan for your style and ask lots of questions- you'll be surprised what is possible with a great team around you.

WE’RE GLAD WE

Chose to have our parents on the bridal table. This is the traditional seating plan in the UK (where Helen's side are from) and it meant that we could spend time with our parents who had helped so much with the day, while our bridal party could enjoy the night with the guests in a relaxed way. It also allowed each set of parents to swap seats and get to know each other more. We are also glad that we hired plants - it sounds random, but we didn't want anything going to waste and the greenery fit the space really well.

THE SONG THAT GOT EVERYBODY ON THE DANCE FLOOR WAS

Our first dance song was an acoustic version of Take on Me. After the first verse the original 80s version played and everyone joined us to kick off the party. Cal Young, our entertainment, learnt the acoustic version for us and did a great job.

STANDOUT VENDORS

They were all a perfect combination!

HOW HAVE YOU FOUND YOUR EXPERIENCE PLANNING A WEDDING AT PROVENANCE WINES?

We would do it all again! We cannot emphasise how easy it was. If you are stressed planning your wedding day then something isn't right, and the team at Provenance made everything a breeze. No question was too silly and no request too outlandish.

I wish we could relive the day again, actually the best!

We loved the feeling we got when we entered the reception space at Provenance, the high ceilings and white brick walls, it was so inviting and special. When we stepped into the Grand Hall it took our breath away and it was a pretty instant YES!! It was also perfect being all indoors as it was guaranteed for any type of weather to come our way.

Provenance was the first (and then only) place we looked at. The beautiful mix of buildings and fields for photos was what drew us in to do a venue visit and once we were there, the ceremony space and overall feel of the venue and staff sold us!

We loved the look and feel of Provenance from the first time we had lunch there, before we were even engaged actually. The rustic vibe, being close to home for family and friends, and the addition of it being a venue that produced it's own wine ticked multiple boxes for us. Opting for a winter wedding, Provenance Wines had great options for an indoor ceremony and reception and the evening felt cosy and warm with the fireplace running in the background.
