For us, our Geelong Pinot Noir is a flag bearer for the variety in the region and shows the distinctive character we strive for.
Independent Review
"From the Darriwill vineyard, planted in the Moorabool Valley in '98. A bright ruby red. Like last year's trio of Provenance's regional and single-vineyard pinots, this is both the most backward and structured of the three. They're all excellent and, if you can, it's really worth the time and effort to taste and compare them. This has dark fruits and more spice than floral notes while the palate is concentrated, structured, balanced and long. Built to go the distance." 96 Points Philip Rich, Halliday Wine Companion. "What this wine does is combine – expertly – complex flavour, depth of varietal fruit, and general delicious drinkability. It’s a textbook example of Geelong Pinot Noir at its best and indeed of the high craft of the Provenance crew. It’s grown on a single vineyard, it shows beetroot, earth and spice notes as much as it does red cherry, smoked meats and peppercorns, and at every turn it feels complete. This is, simply, a beautiful wine." 94 points. Campbell Mattinson, campbellmattinson.com
