Vineyard
Our Geelong Chardonnay is grown in a vineyard planted in the late nineties and located in the Moorabool/Barwon Valley region north of Geelong. With vertical shoot positioning rows running north-south up and over a slight rise, the soil is mostly the black cracking clay commonly found on the volcanic plains that run west of Melbourne. Sections of the site have significant basalt rock content, giving depth and power.
Independent Review
“As with the '22s, this is the most immediately appealing of the three ’23 regional chardonnays from Provenance. Bright gold with green tinges. Concentrated and complex from the first whiff. Aromas of ripe orchard fruits, orange blossom and just the right amount of gun flint leads onto the mouth-filling, flavoursome and well-balanced palate. Finishes long and satisfying." 96 Points
