Our local vineyard, and one we’ve worked with for nearly twenty years, Darriwill captures the spirit of Geelong’s Moorabool Valley in a bottle.
It’s a beautiful site with a cool south-easterly aspect, a mix of clay and loam over limestone soils that contribute both breadth and tension to the wine.
We’ve moved further towards sustainable farming, eschewing herbicides, enriching the soil with cover crops, and tuning our viticulture to the rhythms of the site.
The 2023 expression is deeply fruited, savoury, structural, and undoubtedly Moorabool Valley Geelong.
"The power in this limited-run series of Pinot Noirs from Provenance is quite something. This wine lays down its quality in no uncertain terms, its notes of black cherry, foresty herbs, earth and orange peel blending beautifully with smoky, cedarwood oak. The tannin of this wine is fine and beautifully judged, the finish then persistent and then some. This wine needs a couple of extra years in the bottle but thereafter, it will sing." 94+ points.
