Our Ironstone Shiraz, a rare gem crafted only in exceptional years, is a selection of our very best barrels of Geelong Shiraz. This exclusivity ensures that each bottle is a testament to our uncompromising commitment to quality.
The 2021 vintage is a captivating deep and inky purple in the glass. The complex and intense aromas, reminiscent of deep red and black fruits, lavender, white pepper, fresh tobacco, allspice, and savoury turned earth, promise a sensory journey that is both intriguing and exciting.
Lush on the palate, with mouth-filling depth and power, the fabulous intensity has definite richness while maintaining its cool-climate elegance; all of the complexity the nose offers, echoes with a persistently long finish.
This truly shows off the powerful and premium style Geelong Shiraz aspires to.
Independent Reviews
"This is superb. It’s silken, pure, savoury and sweet; it has power but it also has modesty; it has all the carry in the world on the finish. It tastes of smoked meat and black cherry, potpourri, black pepper, boysenberries and plums. It’s characterised by its meat, pepper, roasted nut and floral characters but the fruit itself is gorgeously ripe and satisfying. In short, this is a Geelong shiraz to write home about."

"From the Spence vineyard in Moorabool; 2% viognier and 14 days on skins. Matured in barriques (20% new). A deep-ish crimson purple. Lovely aromatics with scents of dark fruits, smoked meats, potpourri and violets. Medium bodied, this impeccably balanced wine is layered with gently chewy and persistent tannins and an impressively long finish. This just keeps getting better the longer it sits in the glass. Always a good sign."
