Cellar Door

Provenance means the place of origin. Everything we do from vineyard to glass is about preserving the identity of place. Our new cellar door and winery at the Fyansford Paper Mill is testament to that.

The Fyansford Paper Mill is one of Australia’s few remaining original paper mill industrial complexes. Built in the 1870s, the precinct is home to a variety of bluestone buildings now used by artists, a café and (of course) Provenance Wines.

Buckley waterfalls on the Barwon River form a boundary of the Mill, which used hydro power to drive the paper making machines. The original 800m long water race that powered the paper mill exists till this day.

Our cellar door originally housed the 100ft paper making machine. We have recently renovated this building, taking care to retain its historic integrity and charm.

In this ‘Industrial Cathedral’ you can taste our range of premium wines, enjoy a glass over lunch or take away a bottle (or few) to enjoy at a later date.

The Barrel Room looks into our Winery, where all of our great wines are made.

Our kitchen is open from 11.30 - 4.00, Thursday - Monday. Please go to the Restaurant page for the menu and further information.

Come in an enjoy a tasting of our award winning premium wines with one of our knowledgeable staff members.

Please note that these are premium wines and as such, tasting fees are charged.

All large groups must book to avoid disappointment. We recommend all people book to ensure a tasting but walk-ins are welcome.  Please call us on (03) 5222 3422.
